Jenny Nimmo
Head of InclusionI am dedicated in supporting young people to realise their all round potential and be the best they can be by providing a strong pathway to adulthood throughout a young person’s educational journey. EMAT’s work to support pupils to be independent, develop social connections, maintaining good wellbeing and health, and to achieve academic potential from starting points is something I am very proud to be part of.
I qualified as a teacher in 2000 and have worked in a number of different regions and educational settings across England since then in a variety of roles including as a Head of Sixth Form, Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Principal, and Local Authority Inclusion Officer. Outside of my main roles I have previously volunteered as both a Local Advisory Board member and as a UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) advisor to new 6th Forms. I am also a former lacrosse player who played at international level.
As EMAT’s Head of Inclusion it is a privilege to work in partnership with pupils, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to enable our young people to make social and academic progress from starting points by working to remove barriers alongside providing targeted support and high expectations to realise our vision of every child deserving to be the best they can.
