Thanks to this year's sponsors:

Could you sponsor this year's event?

This year we are aiming for the event to be bigger and better:

  • We are involving more pupils and more schools
  • Olympic Day events will take place at more school sites
  • We will have even more Olympians and Paralympians taking part on the day to start the events, announce winners and inspire our pupils to aim high!

We are looking for sponsorship to help achieve this.

Funds raised through sponsorship will go towards various aspects of making the event a success. Examples include:

  • T-shirts for the children and adults taking part
  • Hire of a gazebo for each school taking part so they have a base for the day
  • Food – lunch and drinks for children and adults involved
  • Portaloos

Both financial contributions and contributions-in-kind are welcome. We are open to discussion around ideas on how your company or organisation can be represented in return for sponsorship.

This is a very exciting project that will impact thousands of pupils and we hope you can get involved. For more information get in touch via&nbsp For more information please email info@emat.uk

Last year's event

East Midlands Academy Trust and The Harefield Academy hosted an Olympic Day, supported by GB Olympians, on Wednesday 23rd June 2021.

Summer 2 term saw the Trust’s first ever Olympic Day event, in partnership with the GB Olympian Association. Hosted at The Harefield Academy on June 23rd, we saw around 200 pupils from EMAT school, Harefield and two Harefield feeder primary schools compete in a range of primary and secondary sporting and athletics events.

Thanks to the partnership with the GB Olympian Association, the competitors were delighted to have been cheered on by Joslyn Hoyte-Smith, Bronze medal-winning relay runner at Moscow 1980 and chair of the GB Olympian Association, Haig Oundjian, the sponsor of The Harefield Academy and 1971 European bronze medalist and a three-time British national figure skating champion, double Olympian and runner Marilyn Okoro, 200m runner Louise Collins who competed at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and sprinter and former Harefield Academy pupil Rion Pierre.

The day's event was hosted by broadcasting host Dave Fulton and included sports such as basketball, football, relays, long jump and a range of multi-sporting events for primary pupils.
